Dr Ma is a Chinese-American female clinical psychologist (one of the very few) with a deep understanding of the difficulties of being a minority in America. Belonging to the first generation of her family to be born in the United States of America, Dr Ma has empathy for all individuals who have been disenfranchised. She has a strong passion and life purpose which seeks to assist people to reach their full potentials and gain total control of their lives.
Dr Ma's passion for psychology was birthed in middle school where her curious mind wanted to know more about why humans behave the way they do. She read up on Freud, and in high school took college-level courses in psychology. She believed that her calling was to become a therapist that can help others understand themselves. Dr Ma believes that happiness comes from knowing oneself, loving oneself, and doing good in the world.
In other to pursue her dream of helping others reach their full potentials, Dr Ma enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she obtained a degree in psychology. She received her doctoral degree at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University. Dr. is an ardent researcher who seeks to unlock the power of the mind. She runs a research lab at Duke University and has worked at prestigious institutions such as Kaiser Permanente and the University of California San Diego.
